God created YOU so
that He could have a personal relationship with YOU! He is waiting
for you to say YES to a relationship with Him.
How do we say YES
to a personal relationship with Jesus?
First, we
need to understand our condition.
God is perfect and
holy. We are full of sin. Our sin not only separates us from God but
it also demands punishment. The punishment for sin is death and
eternal separation from God.
“There is not a
righteous man on earth who does what is right and never sins.”
(Ecclesiastes 7:20)
“For all have sinned
and fall short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23)
“For the wages
of sin is death.” (Romans 6:23)
Second, we
need to understand God’s heart.
God doesn’t want
anyone to spend eternity separated from Him. So God made a way for
us to get to Him. That way, the only way is Jesus Christ. He died on
the cross to pay the penalty for our sins so that we could have a
relationship with God and eternal life.
“God our Savior, wants
all men to be saved.” (1Timothy 2:3-4)
“Jesus
answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to
the Father except through me.’” (John 14:6)
“Salvation is
found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given
to men by which we must be saved.”
“For the wages
of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus
our Lord.” (Romans 6:23)
Third, we need to
accept Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross for our sins.
There is absolutely no way for us to
earn our way to heaven. All we can do is acknowledge our need for a
Savior and accept the sacrifice already made for us.
“Whoever believes in
the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see
life, for God’s wrath remains on him.” (John 3:36)
“God saved you be his
special favor when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this;
it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things
we have done, so none of us can boast about it.” (Ephesians 2:8-9)
“If we confess our
sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and
purify us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9)
Finally, we need to
continue to walk with Jesus on a daily basis.
Accepting Jesus as our
Savior is the beginning of our relationship with Him. We should live
everyday of our lives with gratitude for love of God that
demonstrated by the sacrifice Jesus of Jesus on the cross for us.
How?
By striving to LOVE
God with all our might, LIVE as passionate, life-long disciples of
Jesus Christ, and LEAD others to Christ.
Are you ready to say YES to a personal
relationship with Jesus?
If so then share your
heart with God. You can use this prayer to help you talk to God but
there is nothing more special or more powerful about this prayer
than any prayer that comes straight from your heart. It’s not your
words but your heart that matters to God.
God, thank you for
loving me so much that You sent Your one and only Son to die on the
cross for me. I understand that I am a sinner and that my sin has
separated me from You. I believe that Jesus died on the cross and
rose from the dead so that I can have a relationship with You and
eternal life. I accept that sacrifice today. Please help me to love
you with all of my might, to live passionately for You, and to lead
others to You. Thank You for giving me new life today. In Jesus name
I pray. Amen!
